Autumn & Chocolate

Autumn is here and loving the arrival of new collections and brands. The prints we are seeing this season I feel have been one of the best and certainly the most popular and reflect Autumn beautifully . I have noticed that navy is being used a lot which looks wonderful with all the vibrant contrasting colours and autumnal prints around. As we Brits love our wildlife , I think Anorak & Scion famous Mr Fox has captured this so well with such simple prints that just work.   A little treat to cheer you up as nights start drawing in and getting chilly so……….. The Best Hot Chocolate !!! I love this time of year and enjoy cosy nights in so I thought I would share a fantastic hot chocolate recipe for the kids and the big kids in your life. Not for the slimmers amongst us ! Enjoy. Return of the Retro Phone

The return of the fun and iconic 746 & Trim phones now come with a great modern twist! They have become a huge favourite with the youngsters, something very new to these guys and, if you were born anytime before the 70’s, these phones should bring a big smile to your face. The 746 is a true British gem of a telephone and was launched in 1967. It has certainly become the favourite today, with its vibrant colours from English mustard to, the biggest seller for me, the French Blue. The Trim phone was certainly the more fashionable choice, compared to its earlier rivals, and became a favourite in the 70’s/80’s. It was best known for its modern electronic warbler instead of the traditional bell. Both these phones today are loved for different reasons but both have the modern push-button dial rather than the original rotary pulse. One thing I really do love about these phones is that they certainly do get people talking about childhood memories of seating in cold hallways and parents having locks on the 746’s. Great fun and great...

Alfresco Dining

Summer is here and what better a way to enjoy those light evenings than enjoying a glass or two of your favourite summer tipple. One of the best recipes I have found for a really lovely glass of prosecco with a twist is this fresh, light cocktail and so easy to make. I call it: Summer Garden. Just pour 20ml  Elderflower Cordial & 20ml Gin (I use Hendricks) into your favourite glass, fill with ice-cold prosecco & add a sprig of fresh mint and lime for decoration . Hey presto, a truly lovely summer drink.   For the kids, a very simple & easy lemonade recipe. All you need is : 3 unwaxed lemons, roughly chopped 140g caster sugar 1 litre cold water Add the lemons, sugar and half the water to a food processor and blend until the lemons are finely chopped. Pour the mixture into a sieve over a bowl, then press through as much of the juice as you can. Top up with the remaining water and serve with crushed/cubed ice and slices of lemon for added flavour and decoration. Pour into one of our many colourful cups for added...
